Derek Fenner

Derek Fenner is an artist, educator, and researcher living in Oakland, California. After over a decade of experience as an art educator and administrator in the Massachusetts juvenile justice system, he is completing his doctorate at Mills College. His research interests include, youth participatory action research, juvenile justice education, decolonizing methodologies, and arts based research. He is the co-founder of Bootstrap Press, a literary publishing venture that has published over 30 books since 2000.
